How to choose your fragrance
A fragrance is not a signature that imposes itself. It is an intimate dialogue between a material and a skin. Here is how to approach it.
Understanding the olfactory families
An olfactory family is not a rigid category, it is a climate. A region of the sensory world where certain notes recognise one another, converse and intertwine. To know the six families is to understand the grammar of fragrance.
-
Floral family
Floral
Roses, jasmine, ylang-ylang. The climate of gardens, of fragile petals, of morning dew. Often feminine, sometimes androgynous in its most modern contours.

Woody family
Woody
Cedar, sandalwood, vetiver, oud. The climate of forests, of damp bark, of dry wood warming up. Often masculine, but also worn with an earthy grace by women.

Amber family
Amber
Amber, incense, vanilla, spices. The climate of palaces, of velvet evenings, of deep carpets. Sensual, opulent, uncompromising.

Fresh family
Fresh
Citrus, green herbs, sea breezes. The climate of June light, of bright mornings, of light strolls. Universal, immediately likeable.

Gourmand family
Gourmand
Vanilla, caramel, honey, cocoa. The climate of tender childhood, of rediscovered desserts, of perfumes worn like a sweetness. Playful, accessible, surprisingly long-lasting.

Fruity family
Fruity
Peach, pear, red berries, sunny citrus. The climate of orchards, of slow compotes, of summer suns. Joyful, generous, never overly sweet.

Understanding intensity
Intensité
Intensity describes the character of a fragrance on your skin. A light intensity whispers, a strong one affirms. Neither is better than the other — each one matches a moment, an intention, a season.
- Whisper
- Discreet
- Present
- Assertive
- Extravagant
Sillage
The sillage is the trail you leave as you pass. A short sillage stays with you. A long one crosses a room, a street, a memory. It depends on the concentration, but also on your skin.
- Intimate

The art of wearing
-
Where
On the pulse points: wrists, base of the neck, behind the ears, the crook of the elbows, the back of the knees. Warmth diffuses the fragrance, exposes it to the air, reveals it in movement.
-
How much
Two to four sprays are enough for a day. The more concentrated it is, the less you need. And never forget: a fragrance worn with restraint is more charming than one worn in excess.
-
When
On clean, moisturised skin, ideally after showering. Dry skin absorbs; moisturised skin diffuses. Avoid rubbing — you break the most fragile notes. Let it dry in the open air.
